The reason I nominated as Area Co-ordinator: I have business degree with a double major in management and marketing providing strong leadership and interpersonal communication and computer skills. I am an active volunteer in my community.
A bit about me: I'm a keen volunteer in the Gympie region, a mother of 2 and have recently completed a Bachelor of Business at USC. I am currently the Secretary for Gympie South SS P&C and intend to remain on the P&C until my children have completed year 6. My passions are community engagement and event management.
As a mum of five (two who have now graduated), Cate has another 11 years of school life ahead.
With a passion for personal development and communities, Cate can always be counted on to flip sausages at the next BBQ or volunteer to pack up after the event. Between baking for her tribe at home and reading the latest self-help book, Cate is excited to connect with the Metro North P&C community.
Barbra Wyatt - Area Co-ordinator, Darling Downs South West
The reason I nominated as Area Co-ordinator: I truly believe that P&Cs are great and essential part of a schooling team from primary through to high school. I enjoy encouraging others to volunteer within schools and be an active member of their child’s education.
A bit about me: I have been both Treasurer and President of both primary and high schools. Treasurer for 2 years at each, President 2 years primary and 1 year at the high school. I have also been a member of the Darling Downs & South West area connect team since 2017 and part of the presentation team since 2018. I have actively volunteered for 10 years and now currently work in community services sector.
The reason I nominated as Area Co-ordinator: I am passionate about helping others be the best they can be.
I enjoy helping other members help their associations do great things for their schools.
I have a working knowledge of the policies, guidelines, and relevant manuals but am aware I do not know it all.
I am not afraid to ask for help when unsure.
….. I have only just begun….
A bit about me: I am a mum of 5 ranging from 4 to 20. I have always been active in my children’s schools, understanding that my small contribution does make a big difference overall. I am currently in my third term as President but over the past 13 years have held many roles. I do not have many people to support me in my life as a single mum, choosing instead a select few of which I trust implicitly knowing they have my back and I theirs. I am regularly called upon by the principal and leadership team to participate in various groups within the admin of the school, due to my willingness and ability to work as a team to be the best we can be.
Krystle Lewis - Area Co-ordinator, North Queensland
The reason I nominated as Area Co-ordinator: I have been an active member of my P&C for just on 10 years, and an executive member in varies roles for nine of those years. I understand just how big an area we have up here having been born and bred in a rural area and know how important it is to have someone able to contact and help when needed.
Over the last year, I have continued to learn and enhance my understanding of our company’s policies and strategic plan. I strongly advocate to any parent, teacher or just the general public “Every Child, Every Chance”. I understand the importance of following P&C Qld’s code of conduct and firmly believe in the sheer importance of keeping things confidential (to the point that I have included and ensure members old and new sign and resign the copy of P&Cs Qld code of conduct on their membership form). I believe I have the skills the passion and ability to engage and support my area I am just as passionate about my own P&C and know I am still learning and have been growing in the role as Area Co-ordinator. I want to continue to help and grow other P&Cs in my Area.
I am always trying and keen to learn new skills to keep up to date with any information that I can get my hands on that can help and support either my Area, my P&C or my school community. I believe that I have the knowledge and working experience that it takes to continue to be North Qld Area Co-ordinator I also believe that if you work together that you can learn new skills and achieve more as a team.
