We are again thrilled to present an exciting opportunity to connect with hundreds of Queensland parents, volunteers and teaching leaders for our annual state conference, with Innovate as our theme for the year.

Our 2018 Conference was a resounding success. It was the largest and best attended in our history with some four hundred delegates.  Feedback suggests that parents are looking for new and interesting ways to engage volunteers, to conduct their affairs and, of course, to fundraise, hence our call to “innovate!”

As one of Australia’s leading parent advocacy and support groups, P&Cs Qld is pleased to be joined again this year by many national education partners and statewide parent advocates, the Australian Council of State School Organisations, state school administrators and kindred associations.

Paying for a P&C representative to attend the conference fits within the constitutional functions and powers of an Association. Attendance at the conference is considered a P&C expense and is able to be paid for from P&C funds. Remember that proposed expenditure of P&C funds must be put forward as a motion and passed at a duly constituted meeting of the P&C.

If successful, your P&C will be required to contribute $200 towards the registration cost (an invoice will be issued to your Association if your application is successful). We can only accept one expression of interest per P&C, so please discuss your submission as a P&C. You will be asked to explain why we should sponsor you and what you can bring to the Conference. You will also need to provide contact information for your P&C President so that we can confirm that your application has been authorised by your P&C.

Part-funded attendance includes:

  • full registration Friday 6 and Saturday 7 September
  • shared accommodation Friday 6 and Saturday 7 September (Single option available at extra cost on application and additional accommodation may be provided for Thursday 5 September depending on your location. All arrangements will be negotiated with the State Office.)
  • Welcome reception Friday 6 September
  • Conference dinner Saturday 7 September
  • travel for delegates residing more than 100 km from the venue (organised by the P&Cs Qld State Office). Travel expenses for delegates living less than 100 km from the venue are the responsibility of the delegate.

Please note:

  • Part-funded places are only available to current P&Cs Qld affiliates.
  • Submitting an expression of interest for a part-funded place does not automatically result in a place being offered.
  • All EOIs will be evaluated and applicants will be notified of the outcome shortly after 21 June 2019.
  • If your application is unsuccessful, we still encourage you and your team to register and will honour the earlybird rate, providing your EOI is received by 21 June 2019.
