P&Cs Qld arranges optional insurances which P&C Associations can elect to insure. Below is a brief summary on what these cover and why your P&C may wish to consider obtaining the policies.

Who does the Student Personal Accident policy cover?

All students of the school which the P&C Association represents.

What does the Student Personal Accident policy cover?

There are benefits available under the policy if a student suffers an Accident at school and undertaking school activities, including:

  • authorised school sports and excursions
  • swimming club
  • outside school hours care and vacation care

Cover includes necessary direct travel to and from such activities and/or school, that results in Accidental Death or a Bodily Injury.

Key Benefits and Sums Insured:

Accidental Death - $50,000

Permanent Total Disablement - Up to $250,000

Other Permanent Disablement - Up to $250,000

Fractured Bones - Up to $5,000

Non-Medicare Medical Expenses - Up to $5,000

Student Tutorial Benefit - $300 per week up to a maximum of 26 weeks

Excess:

$50 for Non-Medicare Medical Expenses benefit

Claim Example:

A student of a school where the P&C purchases this policy is injured whilst playing rugby at an interschool competition, resulting in a complete fracture of their wrist. The family is entitled to a lump sum benefit of $1,250. Additionally, they can claim for Non-Medicare Medical Expenses up to $5,000.
